In 2005 he was elected a member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation and in 2007 was accredited in Building Conservation with the RICS.
Richard previously worked for Storey Sons & Parker where he qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor.
In 1993 he joined a Durham based Architects practice where he undertook a wide range of surveying duties and project management on a variety of property types.
To further his experience in the Historic building sector Richard joined a building surveying practice in York where he spent 9 years working on a wide variety of historic buildings including Grade I listed castles and stately homes.
