Amethyst Surveys
Established in 2003, Amethyst Surveys Limited is a premier service provider within the highly specialised utility detection and asset mapping sector of the survey industry. Employing highly trained and industry experienced surveyors, we use the latest electromagnetic & ground-penetrating radar equipment, remote CCTV inspection equipment and proven techniques to accurately detect and map underground services across any environment within the UK and Europe.

We work within the highly specialised utility detection, asset mapping, site investigation and survey industry. Through employing a combination of fully trained industry experienced surveyors and the latest ground probing radars and remote inspection equipment we can detect and map underground services to a high degree of accuracy across a wide range of environments.

As highly experienced specialists, we remove the uncertainty associated with the reliance on old, incomplete, unclear or unavailable record information. Our projects range from locating single utilities, borehole clearance surveys and production of virtual trial holes, through to network and utility asset mapping for industry and construction schemes.
Services
We're a team of highly skilled individuals who support each other to provide the best possible surveys for our clients.
Motivated and with an eye for detail, we go the extra mile to provide clients with all the information they require for their projects.
With the focus on teamwork throughout the company, we aim for high quality in all aspects of our business.
Following in my Father's footsteps, I have been part of the Utility Survey Industry for almost 30 years, and as a partner at Amethyst since 2004, I am very proud of the professional team we have put together.
Knowing the location, routes and depths of existing pipes, cables and other buried infrastructure is a principal requirement for the construction and asset maintenance industry.
As experienced utility detection and mapping specialists, we remove the uncertainty associated with the reliance on old, incomplete, or unavailable record information.
We strive to improve our services through investment in the latest systems and instrumentation.
Our current range of equipment includes systems such as Radiodetection's RD8100 precision locators and the latest IDS dual frequency and Mala HDR ground penetrating radar technology.
To complement our Electromagnetic locators, we utilise the latest Ground Penetrating Radar systems which enable the detection of non-metallic services such as PE gas and water pipes, asbestos cement pipes and Fibre Optic cables.
Also, this allows the identification of manhole chamber extents and the location of buried tanks, basements extents and voids.
Data capture allows us to post-process survey results and present reports in line with PAS 128.
We've invested in the latest IDS and Mala GPR instrumentation, enabling us to detect both shallow and deep targets with a single scan, thereby reducing survey time and associated costs.
Amethyst Surveys have been providing high-quality CCTV Drainage Condition Surveys since 2007.
As a successful Utility Survey company, we understand the unique requirements, accuracy and attention to detail that our clients demand and have developed our product to meet these standards.
Our experienced and Confined Space trained staff undertake surveys on pipe work from 100mm diameter and upwards using the latest technology in pipeline inspection systems.
Collated information is delivered as a report via our unique, user-friendly and fully interactive digital format, allowing easy navigation between the survey drawing, the digital footage and the report sheets, detailing any observations and defects.
We undertake a range of drainage and sewerage related asset investigations.
Where necessary we can investigate using trained, qualified and fully equipped confined space teams.
Our experience includes the investigation of pollution incidents, cross connection and contamination of sewage or industry process water discharging into surface water drainage networks and watercourses, full drainage asset mapping for industrial, commercial and redevelopment sites, highway drainage mapping, drainage area and impermeability studies.
